As a few of the people on my watcher's list may know I am a self confessed Top Gear fan, ever since being introduced to the show in 2006 I was enthralled with the combination of fast, high end supercars, old beaters & jalopies tweaked & tuned into automotive monstrosities to take on crazy challenges like crossing the English channel, trying to make limos on the cheap or a boxy French MPV into a convertible & the exotic road trips all over the world, every moment I was drawn into the chemistry that was set in between the three presenters & just how well they all worked together.

It was this chemistry that made Top Gear what it is today as you had three different elements that performed so well together, it was to say the least irreplaceable & it gave the show character & heart, for all the looniness that the trio got up to it was always seemed somewhat believable, something that the audience could sit back & just laugh as they see the joke within it, it was this in my opinion that somewhat echoed the English comedy legends Monty Pythons & admittedly the banter between the three was one of the best bits of the show's makeup.

I can recall the level's of dismay when I heard about Jeremy's axing from the BBC after a result of him assaulting a producer over the lack of adequate catering to himself & the crew after a solid day shooting & to be honest the crankiness of the crew is justified but the thing that worried me most was "what was to become of Top Gear ?", & in the grand scheme of things I wish I hadn't even bothered to think about it, earlier today my friend #WaluigiTails3801 had informed me about the hostile reactions towards the pilot episode of the new series of Top Gear & I decided to see for myself, I did hold an open heart but I was prepared for the worst & indeed, it arrived.

I felt while watching the show that everything that made up the original show was gone, all the substance, believability, chemistry & heartiness had vanished, leaving behind a hollow shell of show trying to fill in the hole that had been created, Evan's performance was mediocre (& that's putting it lightly) & the lack of connection with former Friends star Matt Leblanc added to this emptiness, you could see that the crowd was rife with awkward & bored facial expression, many of the things that was involved with the show especially Star in a Reasonably Priced Car now replaced with Star in a Rallycross car just made me face palm plus quite a few other things I won't mention.

The best way I can describe my feelings is this, the BBC owned a golden goose & everything was fine until I laid a bad egg, so they took it outside & rung it's neck, realising their mistake they had it stuffed & mounted in hopes of preserving the gold, that is what the new Top Gear is, a hollow, lifeless shell that has been stuffed with preservative fluff & filler in vain hopes of given it the substance back but it has failed, I do not see Top Gear 2016 as the new series of the show, it to me is nothing more than a ghost of old Top gear's past & truth be told, it does not deserve to continue, it should have died a dignified death not be beaten like a dead horse.

Thank you for taking the time reading this rant about it but I needed to let it out, till next time my friends.
